The R10 Maestro Wu Medium Chinese Cleaver is an iconic Chinese slicing cleaver with a hardwood handle. The thin slicing blade is used for shredding, slicing, and dicing vegetables and boneless meats. This is not for chopping bones or frozen foods. Knife length: 168mm x 79mm. Blade thickness: 1.8mm. Handle length: 118mm. Weight: 310g. Now in it’s 3rd generation, Maestro Wu knives from Kinmen, Taiwan are most famous for being made out of bombshell and artillery shell steel from the Second Taiwan Straight Crisis in 1958, and the subsequent intermittent shelling of the island with propaganda leaflet-filled shells until 1979. It is estimated that about 1 million shells in total were fired upon the island in the 21 year time span.
