Heavy Duty Meat Cleaver – Master Kuo FN Big D12 / Heavy Duty Bone Cleaver is hand forged from spring steel with a traditional wooden handle and a rat tail tang. Weighing in at 780 grams or 1.75 lbs. it is a serious butcher knife for chopping through bones. The edge is hardened to Rockwell 60 and features the protective scale coating from forging to give it that more rugged, rustic, and all around more manly look. It can easily be swung all day by the rough traditional wet market butcher, the surgical chef, or the random crazed mass murderer. His Damascus steel designs incorporate human bones and ashes to imbibe the spirit into the piece, as well as to add some elemental strength to the steel (such as manganese and phosphorus), which is based on historical accounts in ancient Chinese sword making
