This Taiwan Tuna Fish Cutting Knife – Big Tuna Knife Master Kuo FN Big 1400 is one of several hand forged ‘effin big fish knives by Master Kuo. The black scale from the forge forms a natural protective coating that keeps the blade from rusting, and looks pretty cool, too. Made from high carbon spring steel, it has an RC hardness of 60-61 and weighs in at 1.4kg, or just over 3 lbs. In the grand scheme of all the Taiwan Tuna Knives, this knife is bigger than the G-5 3XL and smaller than the FN Big 1500. The 1400 is meant to be used more like a zipper by using the weight to penetrate into, then push through and slice big fish like like Tuna, Mahi and swordfish. The big belly of the knife also acts as a cleaver that can cut through the bones, head and tail of the fish.   Dimensions:  Blade Length: 290 x 190 x 5 mm / 11.4″ x 7.5″ x 0.20″ Handle Length: 100 mm x 4″ Overall Length: 365mm / 14.5″ Weight: 1400 g. / 50 oz. Most surface rust can be removed by sharpening the edge or using a scotchbrite pad.
